Stories

Lived experience, in people’s own words

ABMC’s written story collection is opening. Every story is published only with the storyteller’s documented consent, so we are building it carefully rather than quickly.

Consent first

How sharing a story works

  1. You reach out

Tell us a little about what you’d like to share. There is no obligation to continue.

  2. We talk it through

We explain how stories are used, where they appear, and how you can be named — full name, first name, or a pseudonym.

  3. You review and consent

Nothing is published until you have reviewed it and given written consent.

  4. You stay in control

You can ask for edits or removal after publication.

We follow each storyteller’s language preferences, identity-first or person-first, and never present one story as representing all autistic people. Stories describe personal experience and are not medical advice.

Have a story to share?

You decide what is shared, how you are named, and whether your story is written, recorded, or both.
