Privacy Policy

Pre-launch draft. This page has not been reviewed by a lawyer and will be finalized before launch.

This policy explains, in plain language, what information this website collects and what happens to it. It describes the site as it works today.

Contact form (including story ideas)

When you send a message, we collect only what you type: your name, email address, chosen topic, and message. The website does not keep its own copy. Your message is passed to our email provider, Resend, and delivered to the ABMC team’s inbox so we can read and reply. Your email address is used as the reply address; we do not add it to any mailing list. Messages remain in the team’s email until deleted; we have not yet set a fixed retention period.

Please don’t include medical records, financial details, or private information about other people (including children) unless they have agreed.

Community email list

ABMC does not run an email list yet, and the site has no sign-up box that collects addresses. If a list is added later, this policy will explain what is collected and how to unsubscribe before sign-ups open.

Help Me Find

Answers you choose in Help Me Find stay in your browser to show suggestions. They are not saved or sent to ABMC.

Stories

Sending a story idea does not publish anything. Personal stories are published only after we have discussed them with you and recorded your consent. You may ask us to edit or remove a published story at any time.

Embedded video

Videos are hosted on YouTube. Video previews show a thumbnail image served by YouTube; the player itself loads only when you press play, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Once a video loads, or if you follow a link to YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok, that company’s own privacy policy applies.

Analytics and advertising

On the launched site, ABMC plans to use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization to understand which pages and videos are useful. Analytics does not run on preview versions of this site. There is no advertising on this site. If advertising or other tracking is added, this policy will be updated first.

External websites

Links to government agencies and other sites take you off ABMC. Their privacy practices are their own.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete messages you have sent us, or a story you have shared, by writing through the contact page.

Changes

We will update this page when the site’s features change.
